The success of their previous offerings, The Fabulous Sixties and Here Come The Seventies (q.v.), prompted producers Philip Hobel and Douglas Leiterman to pitch yet another series to CTV for the 1973-74 season, this time focusing on the more unpredictable future, and what might lie ahead in the blue-sky realms of technology and invention.
But despite the devotion of the same creative team to the effort at hand, the results were disappointing, and Target: The Impossible was itself impossible to sustain beyond one season. The series was produced on film, and aired on Tuesdays at 9:30pm from September 1973 to the end of the following summer.
