Size Small host Miss Helen (Helen Lumby) created a different theme for every episode of the series in order to help children learn and gain an appreciation of the environment through participation and fun-filled songs and stories. Shot on location at the Lumby summer home on an island in Nemeiben Lake in northern Saskatchewan, each episode included adventures in the woods or the water.
Joining Miss Helen on each episode were a number of regular characters, all Lumby relatives: Stampede (Jefferson Lumby), Grandma Gussie (Lisa Lumby Richards) and Oliver (John Lumby, Jr.) along with many puppet characters. Seen primarily on Global in Canada and PBS stations in the U.S., plus in Singapore, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
