2001
On April 26, Golden West Broadcasting Ltd. was granted a licence for a new FM station at Estevan. It would offer an eclectic music format targeted to a broad audience with a wide range of musical tastes. All of the programming would be local. The station would operate on a frequency of 102.3 MHz with an effective radiated power of 100,000 watts. Golden West owned CJSL-AM, the only other local radio station serving Estevan. The applicant considered that a joint AM/FM operation would enable it to offer the people Estevan and south-eastern Saskatchewan a broader range of service.
CHSN-FM “Sun 102.3” signed on the air in November.
2007
On August 13 the CRTC renewed CHSN-FM’s licence to August 31, 2014.
2014
On May 28, the CRTC approved the relocation of the transmitters and increase of antenna height for CHSN and CKSE.

Effective September 1st 2019, we will only be adding new material to these station histories in exceptional circumstances. Our intent to chronicle the early days of these radio and television stations has been achieved, and many new sources and technologies, from the CRTC website to Wikipedia, and others, are now regularly providing new information in these areas.
