1987

On March 19, Radio Communautaire de la Rive Sud Inc. was awarded a licence for a French-language community FM station in Longueuil. It would broadcast on a frequency of 103.1 MHz and have an effective radiated power of 50 watts. This would be the first community radio station on the South Shore. The station would serve the 350,000 residents of Champlain, which included Longueuil, St-Hubert, Brossard, St-Lambert, Greenfield Park and Lemoyne. The main studio would be in Longueuil with satellite studios in St-Hubert and Brossard. Revenues would come from the average four minutes per hour of advertising, and the Quebec PAMEC program which was designed to assist local media.

CHAA-FM signed on the air on November 15.

Later in the year, CHAA was granted a power decrease to 104 watts. This request was made because the antenna was being replaced.

2009

On May 8 the CRTC approved the application by CHAA-FM to increase average effective radiated power from 64 watts to 340 watts and the maximum ERP from 263 watts to 1,400 watts. The goal of the proposed increase was to improve the quality of the station’s signal in its main authorized service area.

2011

On August 31, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CHAA-FM to December 31, 2011.

2012

The licensee also proposed to use the subsidiary communications multiplex operation channel.
