1960

CJLM signed on the air May 8. Power was 1,000 watts and the broadcast frequency was 1350 kHz. The station served the counties of Joliette, L’Assomption, Montcalm, Berthier and Maskinonge. CJLM was owned by Radio-Richelieu Ltee and linked with sister station CJSO Sorel during certain times of the day. Maurice Boulianne was manager of both stations.

Ad: If you want to kill two birds with one stone buy CJSO Sorel 1000 watts 1320 kc and CJLM Joliette 1000 watts 1350 kc. Two stations and two markets served locally in one combined rate card.

1965

By this time, CJLM was operating with a thousand watts of power on 1350 kHz and was owned by Radio-Richelieu Ltee. Henri Olivier was President. Maurice Boulianne was CJLM’s manager.

1966

By this time, the station was operating with a thousand watts of power on 1350 kHz and was owned by Radio Richelieu Ltee. 

1969

Maurice Boulianne was managing director.

Radio de Lanaudière Inc. purchased CJLM.

1988

CJLM was given approval to increase night power from 1,000 to 10,000 watts.

1992

Radio de Lanaudière Inc. was given approval for a French-language FM station at Joliette, operating on a frequency of 103.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts. The new FM station would replace CJLM-AM. Also approved was Jean-Pierre Coallier’s (on behalf of a company to be incorporated) purchase of CJLM from Radio de Lanaudière Inc. (The purchase would only have gone ahead if the station’s move to FM was granted) 

1993

Diffusion Laurentides Inc. was now networking programming from 6:00 p.m. to midnight daily. CJLM picked up the programming of CIME-FM in Ste-Adele during that time.

1996

CJLM made the move from AM (1350 kHz) to FM (103.5 MHz).

1997

Coopérative de radiodiffusion MF 103,5 de Lanaudière was given approval to purchase CJLM – held by the Caisse populaire Desjardins following the bankrupcy of Radio de Lanaudière (1992) inc. The station has been under the receivership of Mr. Franklin Delaney, of Consultation Delaney inc., acting as trustee. 

2009

On May 8, the CRTC approved the application by CJLM-FM to increase effective radiated power from 3,000 watts to 4,500 watts. The goal of the increase was to improved the quality of the station’s signal in the main authorized service area.

2013

Jacqueline Poirier-Lachance passed away at 93. She spent a long career as a host at CJLM, in community television and as a journalist for local Joliet weeklies. 

2014

On July 30, the CRTC approved Attraction Radio inc.’s application (on behalf of 8470286 Canada inc.) to acquire from Coopérative de radiodiffusion MF 103.5 de Lanaudière the assets of CJLM-FM. 

2018

In August, the CRTC approved the change of effective control of Groupe Attraction Radio. The move transferred majority ownership of the company’s 14 Quebec radio stations to Sylvain Chamberland, the company’s executive VP and CEO. He would hold a 50.25% stake in the new ownership structure. Chamberland was recruited by Attraction’s founder Richard Speer in 2011 to set up the radio division.

2019

In January, Attraction Radio became Arsenal Media Group.
