On December 21, the CRTC approved the application by Burnt Islands Economic Development Board Inc. for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language FM Type B community radio programming undertaking in Burnt Islands. The station would operate at 95.7 MHz (channel 239LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts. It would broadcast 105 hours of programming in each broadcast week. All of the programming would be locally-produced. The music format would primarily consist of folk and folk-oriented, and country and country-oriented music selections. The licence would expire 31 August 2011.
