2001
On June 15, Timothy Paul, on behalf of a society to be incorporated, was authorized to operate a Type B English-and Native-language FM station to serve Fredericton Centre, Devon and Nashwasis. The station would broadcast 126 hours of local programming each week, and offer ten hours of talk shows. Forty hours of programming would be in the Maliseet-language and 35% of the music broadcast would be performed or composed by natives. The station would broadcast on 95.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 50 watts.
2002
CKTP-FM (The Beat) signed on the air in October with an All Hits format, the greater Fredericton area including, the Aboriginal Nations of St. Mary’s, Oromocto and Kingsclear. The Station of the Nations had studios and offices at 120 Paul Street in Fredericton.
2007
On July 26 the CRTC renewed CKTP-FM’s licence until August 31, 2014.
