1998
On May 8, the CRTC approved a new FM station at Steinbach, operated by Golden West Broadcasting Ltd., operating on frequency 96.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 50,000 watts. Golden West was the licensee of AM station CHSM. It indicated that the new FM station would use the infrastucture already in place for CHSM. This arrangement would allow the licensee to operate the new undertaking very economically and provide the community of Steinbach with a broader range of service.
CILT-FM “Lite 96.7” signed on the air September 26 with “Continuous light favourites 24 hours a day!”
2011
On August 31, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CILT-FM until March 31, 2012.
2012
On March 20, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CILT-FM to August 31, 2012. On August 28, the licence was administratively renewed to December 31, 2012. On December 21, the licence was renewed to August 31, 2019.
2013
The CRTC approved the deletion of the condition of licence relating to CILT operating under a specialty format.
