2009
On March 3, the CRTC approved the application by Drayton Valley Word of Life Center Church and Ministries for a broadcasting licence to operate an English-language, non-commercial low-power FM radio programming undertaking to provide religious programming in Drayton Valley. Drayton Valley was a not-for-profit charitable organization controlled by its board of directors. In each broadcast week, the new station will provide five to eight hours of programming consisting of the live broadcast of religious celebrations, including weddings, funerals and baptisms. The station would not solicit or broadcast advertising. The applicant confirmed that it will not broadcast the programming of any other programming undertaking and that it would adhere to the Commission’s guidelines on balance and ethics. The licence would expire 31 August 2015. The station would operate at 90.3 MHz (channel 212LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts.
CIDV-FM signed on the air later in the year.
