Le Poing J burst onto the Quebec TV scene in September 1997 and remained a force to be reckoned with until 2000. This late evening talk show was a showcase for its host Julie Snyder: dynamic and full of surprises. The personality and spontaneity of the host gave rise to off-the-wall interviews and unforgettable moments of great television. She walked arm in arm with a sumo wrestler in Japan, visited a nudist ski centre in Austria, and even set herself on fire.
Julie Snyder’s frame of mind mirrored her extravagant wardrobe and vice-versa. Her wardrobe was the work of her imaginative costume designer, Michel Robidas.
In its first season, Le Poing J attracted more than 1.5 million TV viewers per week, who witnessed live a formula that left no room for the run-of-the-mill.
She welcomed guests such as hockey players, singers, actors, commentators of all sorts and then some.
She won a MetroStar award as the 1998 Variety Program Host of the Year.
