The plough, the fish, the camel, the cobra and the curling leaf were all stars of this CTV series – and all were among the various yoga moves and positions which were demonstrated to viewers by an exceptionally lithe Kareen Zebroff, host of this series. Her husband Peter was Executive Producer of the program, which was spun off into books and records by the market-savvy couple.
Kareen lost 20 pounds in three months when she started yoga, and while not all her viewers may have had the same happy experience, the appeal of her programs was enough to keep the series on CTV for six years.
Kareen’s Yoga (just titled Yoga in its first season) made its debut on CTV in September 1971 as a five-day strip, delivered daily in early morning time periods to give stations flexibility to reschedule if they wished. It had its final CTV broadcast in September 1977.
