The weekly comedy La petite vie was a runaway phenomenon that everyone talked about. It took the form of a broad caricature of a Quebec family and broke all previous viewer ratings records for francophone television with its four million TV viewers. Populated by vivid madcap characters including Popa (Claude Meunier) and Moman (Serge Thériault), this series, written by Claude Meunier, profoundly stimulated Quebeckers’ collective imagination.
