The TV series Les filles de Caleb, adapted by Fernand Dansereau from the novel by Arlette Cousture, remains today as one of the most beautiful productions ever made on Canadian television. Twenty (20) episodes of the series were broadcast in 1990 and 1991.
The loves and passions of the school teacher Émilie Bordeleau (Marina Orsini) and her student Ovila Pronovost (Roy Dupuis), which took place in rural Quebec around the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, blossomed like a sequence of poetic shots. Directed by the filmmaker Jean Beaudin, the series attracted more than three million viewers.
