The TV adaptation of this celebrated John Steinbeck novel became a Radio-Canada TV classic. For the first time in the history of a TV drama, it was decided, with Des Souris et des hommes, to shoot many of the shots outdoors, indeed, as much on location as in the studio. The director Paul Blouin had a budget of $100,000 to shoot six days in the studio and six days outdoors.
First broadcast on January 17, 1971, this program starred Jacques Godin in the role of Lennie and Hubert Loiselle as George.
