The serial drama, “Filles d’Ève”, written by Louis Morisset, explored the lives of five young women who were sharing an apartment in a Montreal neighbourhood.
From its debut on September 29th 1960, to the final episode in 1964, Radio-Canada broadcast 164 episodes of the series. This serial drama, directed by Denys Gagnon, starred Gisèle Dufour, Lucille Gauthier, Andrée Lachapelle, Lise L’Heureux and Monique Lepage.
At the 1964 Gala des artistes, “Filles d’Ève”, which was then completing its fourth season on the air, was named “Serial Drama of the Year”. The author, Louis Morisset, when asked to comment on the honour, declared: “While I can clearly acknowledge the necessity of a certain kind of literature intended for some 300 people, I prefer dealing with the human nitty-gritty, people’s day to day routines.”
