C.O. Tatham and Charles Perry applied for an FM licence at Woostock just as CKOX-AM was about to go on air. They later withdrew their application.
1948
CKOX-AM applied for and received an FM licence. CKOX-FM was scheduled to sign on the air December 5 using an RCA transmitter. It would operate on a frequency of 106.9 MHz and have a power of 250 watts. CKOX-AM and FM were owned by Oxford Broadcasting Co. Ltd., headed by former CBC engineer M.J. (Monty) Werry.
It is not certain when CKOX-FM went on the air or how long it remained on-air.
