On January 18, the CRTC approved the application by Radio Lillooet Society for a broadcasting licence for a developmental English-language FM community radio programming undertaking at Lillooet. The new developmental station would provide 112 hours of programming per week, at least 10 hours of which would be locally-produced. The focus of the station’s spoken word programming would be local news and current affairs. It would offer a broad range of musical styles to appeal to local interests and promote and feature new and local musical talent. It would also offer approximately seven hours of programming in St’at’imc, the local Aboriginal language and provide an emergency radio service to Lillooet and surrounding areas. The licence would expire August 31, 2003, and the new station would broadcast at 100.5 MHz, channel 263LP, with an effective radiated power of 5 watts.

On August 26, the CRTC approved the application by Radio Lillooet Society for a broadcasting licence to operate a low-power English-language Type A community FM radio programming undertaking in Lillooet. It had been a developmental English-language FM community station. The new community station would broadcast 85 hours of programming in each broadcast week, including 10 hours of acquired programming. It would offer a broad range of musical styles that reflected local interests and feature and promote new and local musical talent. The spoken word programming would focus on local news and current events. In each broadcast week, the station would offer approximately 5 hours of programming in St’at’imc, and provide an emergency radio service to Lillooet and surrounding area. The station would operate at 100.5 MHz (channel 263LP) with an effective radiated power of 5 watts. The licence would expire 31 August 2009.
2013
On August 23, the CRTC approved an application by Lillooet Camelsfoot T.V. and Radio Association for authority to acquire from Radio Lillooet Society the assets of the English-language low-power community radio station CHLS-FM.
Radio Lillooet was located at 415 Main Street, Lillooet.
