Debuted March 20, 2007 at 10PM.

In 2006, CBC Radio 2 was re-focused to feature nothing but music 24/7.

As part of the change, The Signal debuted featuring Laurie Brown, long time broadcaster and former host of The New Music on CITY-TV in Toronto. This national show was devoted to contemporary music seven nights a week encompassing the music that had opreviously been heard on Brave New Waves and Two New Hours, the latter dedicated to 20th Century composers. Hosts: Laurie Brown, weeknights. Pat Carrabre, weekends.
