1998

On July 9, the CRTC has approved Grand Fall's first commercial, English-language radio station. Licensed to Carleton-Victoria Broadcasting Co. Ltd., it would be a rebroadcaster of CJCJ Woodstock and operate on 93.5 MHz with an effective radiated power of 5,300 watts. The new station would offer Grand Falls advertising. As a condition of licence the new station must begin separate local programming within three years.

1999

On September 17, Telemedia Communications Inc. was given approval to purchase Radio One Ltd. Radio One had earlier acquired Carleton-Victoria Broadcasting.

2000

On June 7, Telemedia Radio Atlantic Ltd. was given approval to add a transmitter for CIKX-FM Grand Falls at Plaster Rock, using the facilities of the CJCJ Woodstock re-broadcasting transmitter, CJCJ-2 Plaster Rock. CIKX-FM re-broadcast the programming of CJCJ Woodstock, except for 2 hours 30 minutes of advertising per broadcast week, aired exclusively in Grand Falls. As a result of this change, the CJCJ re-broadcasters CJCJ-1 Perth/Andover and CJCJ-2 Plaster Rock would be deleted.

2002

On April 19, approval came for the sale of Telemedia Radio Atlantic Inc. to Astral Radio Inc.

Undated

CIKX-FM began airing programming separate from CJCJ. Studios and offices were located at 399 Broadway Boulevard in Grand Falls.

2007

On April 12, Astral Media Radio Atlantic Inc. received approval to operate a transmitter for CIKX-FM at  Plaster Rock, operating on 91.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 50 watts. The new transmitter would replace the existing AM transmitter (CJCJ-2) at that location.  The AM transmitter was inefficient, worn-out and difficult to maintain. The AM transmitter site was in a low-lying area. The new FM transmitter would be located in an area with an elevation for line-of-sight coverage.

2008

On February 4, Astral Media Radio Atlantic Inc. received approval to change the frequency of CIKX-FM-1 Plaster Rock from 91.7 MHz to 88.3 MHz.

2010

Jody Tedford left CIKX for CKCW/CFQM Moncton. He had been hosting the afternoon drive on K 93 FM.

2011

On August 31, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CIKX-FM and its transmitter CIKX-FM-1 Plaster Rock until March 31, 2012.

Astral Fredericton's Group brand manager, Tom Blizzard, was no longer with the operation. He was a 34-year veteran at the Astral stations in New Brunswick.

2012

On March 20, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence for CIKX-FM and its transmitter CIKX-FM-1 Plaster Rock to August 31, 2012. On July 10, the licence was administratively renewed to March 31, 2013.

2013

On February 6, the CRTC administratively renewed the licence of CIKX-FM Grand Falls and its transmitter CIKX-FM-1 Plaster Rock to August 31, 2013.

On June 27, 2013, after a previous such application had been denied in 2012, the CRTC approved an application by Astral Media Inc. to sell its pay and specialty television channels, conventional television stations and radio stations to BCE Inc., including CIKX-FM.
